7 Mainland Telelvision began broadcasting to the Nelson area on 17 September 1993, and is now New Zealand's longest running regional TV station. It now broadcasts 4 television channels 24 hours a day to various parts of New Zealand.
Nelson, Richmond, Tahunanui & Hillsides, Atawhai, Motueka, Golden Bay and parts of Marlborough & lower North Island are covered by both 7 Mainland Network Channel 29 and 7 Mainland Infomation Channel 44. Nelson, Richmond, Wakefield, Stoke, Mapua, Motueka and Kaiteriteri are covered by 7 Mainland Local Channel 61. Inner Nelson City, Bishopdale and Brook & Nile Sts. are covered by 7 Mainland Nelson Channel 48.
7 Mainland TV's flagship programmes are it's live talkback shows, featuring local personalities and local, national and international guests.
The company also operates a radio station and an Internet Service Provider.
